Background
Applies to: steel, aluminium (electrometallurgy), copper, titanium, nickel, zinc and precious metals such as gold and silver
Such projects:
• involve the processing of an ore to produce a metal
• usually extract the metal from their ore by one or more processes of mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy and electrometallurgy. Hydrometallurgy involves leaching, solution concentration and purification and metal recovery. Pyrometallurgy typically involves Calcining, Roasting, Smelting and Refining.
• may involve the consumption of quite large quantities of power (as in aluminium production)
How Promoter handles Metallurgical projects
Promoter can currently produce models for aluminium (other metallurgical projects can be readily added upon request).
Typical Project Cash Flows
The above diagram illustrates the cash flows on an aluminium project. Note that the cells are replaced every seven years
